The Chronicles of Nani On Video

I am overcoming my inability to type with my ability to talk (and talk and talk and talk) I'll be posting a video every week on my YouTube channel. I'll be posting those videos here too along with an occasional regular blog in the mix. (As long as my hands are up to doing the extra typing.)

You'll be able to watch the videos here, but I encourage you to stop by my channel at YouTube once I'm up and running to follow me and get my numbers started!

Monday Mayhem

Home at midnight, I'm wrapping up a great weekend and getting ready for tomorrow night! We just got in from Cincinnati where we sweltered but got to see a fabulous finale to the weekend sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers!

It was Hall of Fame induction day and retired Reds shortstop, Barry Larkin, was inducted to Cooperstown today! They showed a snip of his induction speech live in between innings and there was much joy in the crowd, as there was for most of the game. The scoring started in the top of the third inning with one run for the Brew crew that was answered with 2 from the Reds in the bottom of the third. That’s all the scoring there was. On the way but I told David, “You give good birthday!” It was the second year in a row that the Reds won the game he took me to for my birthday!

I went out chasing the steam train on its real excursions with David and Mike on Saturday. I faced a dead battery and the spare that I thought was fully charged was in the wrong pocket of my tote and wasn’t charged at all! I managed to choke an afternoon’s worth of photos from the two batteries only turning the camera on right before I shot and only clicking one frame per shot. I still had a few nice shots and the batteries didn’t finally actually die until we were done shooting. I must have some good karma stored somewhere!

So far, it’s been a good festival!

I want to extend a special “thank you” to Heather at Acting Balanced for featuring me and my blog on 9 At 9 this Saturday. What a fun feature she does and a great opportunity to meet new blogs and bloggers!

Full party plate today, lots of the calorie-free kind of cake! So, expect the Mug Shot on Tuesday. For now, while I have a little Sunday night energy left, I’ll step up with this week’s Monday Quiz About Me, also hosted by Heather at Acting Balanced.

1. What are your favorite pizza toppings?

I like lots of different types of pizzas. My favorite gourmet pizza is Mediterranean style with olive tapenade, feta cheese, kalamata olives, ring peppers and spinach. MM!!!

My footies classic American pizza is Detroit-style with pepperoni, bacon and pinions

2. What is the strangest name you've ever heard for a child?

Let’s see…my given name is quite unusual, so I try not to judge. BTW, I love my given name, but I use a nick name; much easier to pronounce and spell Nani!

3. What is the best vacation you've ever gone on?

Not so much a vacation, but the most fun I’ve crammed into a weekend, sometimes a long weekend, has been the trips Kelly and I have taken. Kel’s my platonic soul mate and when we have total uninterrupted “just us” time, nothing can compare to that!

4. What is your favorite quick summer meal?

Salad. I make my own salads for dinner at home, but tonight I had a salad at Perkins on the way home; chicken, strawberries, lightly sugared pecans and feta. It was outstanding! Definitely something I’d order again.

And don't forget to add a 5th Question on your own blog so we can answer as we hop around!

5. At what temperature do you start to feel like you want to wear light jacket or sweater? For those of us in the heat wave, do you think you’ll wait until a cooler temperature than usual for a jacket this fall?

I wear a sweater in the house because I get cold in the air conditioning, but outside, I usually do sweatshirts in the low 70’s to high 60’s Fahrenheit and when it get to the mid-sixties it definitely jacket time. I don’t rally think all this heat is making me appreciate the cold any more.

I don't usually put on sweaters until it gets into the low '60's - it's a hold over from my Canadian heritage

Being Canadian also, I do not go for the sweater until it is in the 60s as well. We keep our house a 80 in summer and 65 in winter.

It seems I am always warm, so no sweater or jacket for me until it's in the low 60's. I prefer cooler weather over warm weather anytime.

I live in South Florida. For us, we pull out the jackets and sweaters as soon as we go below 70 degrees, and if we're in the 50s it's coats and parkas, LOL!

Have a blessed week.

I do the sweater/light jacket thing around 60 degrees. And I want you to know that you made me quite hungry over that pizza description! My favorite toppings are lots of green peppers and cheese. Adding a little sausage and/or hamburg makes it taste prettty good too.

It's good to hear you're having such a wonderful time for your festival. I share my birthday with one of my daughters, so I usually let her enjoy the whole thing. Can't wait to see some of your new train photos. Have a wonderful night, hugs, Edna B.

I would say somewhere around the 50s and I'll put something on, but a lot of times it's just a sweater or a cardigan or something, not an actual coat.
I had a salad very similar to the one you described recently and it was very good!

I get cold fairly easy these days so I take a light sweater with me. But it usually has to be under 70 for me to wear one constantly.
